When you train your dog to focus or look at you on command it basically gives you a way to get the dogs attention and get them ready to listen to the next command you want to give them.
I like to think of training your dog to focus as a back up to the leave it command.
In this video you will see the different steps that I take to train a dog to look at you on command. As you go through them go slow and don't rush to the next step before your dog is ready!
Make sure you don't practice for more than 5 minutes at a time, anymore than that is too much for you dog.
